No. 1 Notre Dame women too much for Wake Forest

By Chronicle News Services With preseason All-America guard Arike Ogunbowale struggling, Notre Dame teammate Marina Mabrey took over for the top-ranked Irish in a 78-48 victory over visiting Wake Forest on Sunday.
“It happens to everyone,” Mabrey said after scoring 18 points. Ogunbowale, averaging 22.6 points a game coming into Sunday, was held to four. “I’m confident the next game she will be ready to go — she got the misses out of the way.”
Ogunbowale, who scored 30 points Thursday in a win over No. 2 Louisville, was 1-for-11 from the floor Sunday.
