Evaluating the 49ers’ 2017 draft class

By By Eric Branch It takes a few seasons to evaluate an NFL draft class, but let’s say this definitively about the 49ers’ class of 2017: It looked better before the regular season started.
Five games into Year 2, some of the shine has come off the nine-man group selected by general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan in their first draft.
Their first selection, Solomon Thomas, has failed to progress, others have regressed (Ahkello Witherspoon, Adrian Colbert) and one has a new address (Joe Williams).
