Giants romp in Bay Bridge opener; A’s Lowrie injured

By By Henry Schulman The A’s were afire after winning three of four in Houston. The Giants clawed their way to a series victory against the Cubs, needing 11 and 13 innings for their two wins.

“They’re trying to get to the postseason. We’re trying to get to the postseason,” Giants manager Bruce Bochy said hours before the first of six straight games against their Bay rivals. “These are important games.”
