A’s Jed Lowrie leaves game with left leg contusion

By By Steve Kroner Jed Lowrie, the A’s All-Star second baseman, had to leave Friday night’s game against the Giants with what the team called a left leg contusion.

Lowrie got hurt in the third inning. While catching a pop-up off the bat of Alen Hanson, Lowrie collided with right fielder Stephen Piscotty. Lowrie stayed on the ground for a while, but initially remained in the game.
