Matt Chapman sent for MRI on hand after A’s lose again to Astros

By By Susan Slusser Oakland’s inability to beat the Astros took on an even more unfortunate tinge Thursday when Matt Chapman had a rough day at third base, then came out of the game with a right hand injury.

Chapman, who is among the top defensive players in baseball, made two errors in the sixth inning of the A’s 7-3 loss, the team’s eighth in a row at Houston’s hands. Oakland dropped below .500, at 34-35, for the first time since May 16.
