Warriors ditch pyrotechnic show for opener in wake of North Bay fires

By By Connor Letourneau Out of respect to those affected by the Wine Country wildfires, the Warriors won’t use pyrotechnics at Tuesday night’s season opener against Houston at Oracle Arena, a team spokesman told The Chronicle.

Golden State is known for having one of the most complex pregame pyrotechnic displays in the NBA. For a nationally televised opener against one of the Warriors’ biggest Western Conference rivals, the pyrotechnics typically would be more elaborate than the typical regular-season show.
