SF store clerk stabbed trying to stop shoplifter

A San Francisco store clerk was injured Sunday when he was stabbed while trying to keep a shoplifter from leaving the store, officials said. The attack occurred shortly after 7 p.m. at a store on the 1600 block of Market Street, according to the San Francisco Police Department. The two men struggled and the would-be shoplifter, estimated to be in his 30s, stabbed the clerk with a knife, then ran off without the stolen goods, police said.
