Legislature delays vote on housing-bills package

By By Kevin Fagan Gov. Jerry Brown is negotiating a deal with state senators and Assembly members on 130 bills aimed at easing restrictions on development and creating new funding sources.

[…] Brown and leaders of the state Senate and Assembly issued a joint statement late Monday saying the package won’t be ready until after lawmakers’ summer recess, which runs from July 22 to Aug. 20.

Several people involved with the process said legislators had been too busy with a measure extending the state’s cap-and-trade system on greenhouse gas emissions to focus on the housing bills. [READ MORE HERE]
