Report: Kevin Durant to opt-out, re-sign with Warriors

By By Connor Letourneau Warriors forward Kevin Durant will decline his player option for next season and become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 before re-signing with the team, according to an ESPN report.

Durant — who was named Finals MVP after averaging 35.2 points and 8.2 rebounds in the five-game series against the Cavaliers — is expected to sign for a little less than $32 million, the most he can make in 2017-18 without Golden State needing to create cap space.
