Sonny Gray pitches A’s past White Sox

Opening Night starter Sonny Gray took the mound Wednesday night and held the White Sox in check as the A’s picked up their first win of the season, 2-1 at the Coliseum.

Yes, the A’s are actually 1-2 after Gray had to bow out of the season opener Monday with a stomach flu and the offense was also laid up Tuesday.

Mark Canha went opposite field with a laser to right in the second inning, and Oakland had its first home run of the season.

The only blemish came in the third inning when Chicago center fielder Austin Jackson doubled and later scored
