Hoffpauir returns to Stanford football as ‘the old guy’

Back in football at Stanford after a year’s hiatus in minor-league baseball, Zach Hoffpauir is a newcomer and a veteran at the same time.

The football mentality was already there before he returned to practice on Tuesday after enrolling for the spring quarter, he said.

Asked how Hoffpauir was looking, head coach David Shaw said with a smile, Like a baseball player coming back to football.

Hoffpauir played 40 football games in three years and helped the Cardinal win two Pac-12 titles.
