Sex offender rejected by Petaluma is sent to Rohnert Park

Outrage in Petaluma over the possibility that a sex offender released from jail would move to the town prompted authorities to release him in Rohnert Park instead, officials said Monday. “Hoppner has multiple convictions for sexual battery on females, and is considered a high risk to re-offend,” according to a statement from the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety. Hoppner was convicted of child molestation and sexual battery and is said to have targeted victims between the ages of 15 and 50.
